JOB SUMMARY: (the purpose of the role)
The Store Team Leader (STL) is responsible for all activities in assigned store. These include but are not limited to the achievement of all financial goals, effective merchandise presentation, the flow of donated goods, the development of assigned staff and program participants and superior customer service standards.

Ensures merchandise in store is presented according to written guidelines, from corporate staff as well as verbal and written instructions of District Team Leader and Retail Director’s office. Merchandise should be presented in a neat and orderly fashion at all times with consideration to appearance, category, size and safety.
Handles all money and financial transactions according to published company guidelines.
Protect company assets and staff at all times.
Responsible for delivering the highest levels of customer service possible in all areas of the store.
Opening and closing the store and all requirements of these activities. Ensuring the proper security of the building, company assets and the safety of customers and employees.
Carry a store key and have access to cash management and controls.
Provide a neat, clean and work environment at all times.
Assist in visual presentation tasks as required.
Work a full-time schedule that meets the needs of the business.
Perform coaching and developmental activities.
Performs formal and informal corrective action activities as directed.
Accountable for the selection process of new employees as required.
Work with corporate Loss Prevention and Safety to ensure company assets are protected at all times. (Will participate in coaching and training activities that support this requirement.)
Conducts coaching and training of assigned staff in an appropriate manner at the direction of corporate staff, District Team Leader, Retail Director and Human Resources department when necessary.
Works with District Team Leader to ensure scheduling of assigned staff optimizes business opportunities.
Participates in corporate and district training seminars as required.
Creates and approves all staff scheduling, adhering to established goals and financial targets as directed.
Manages and coordinates the corrective action process of employees as directed.
Addresses customer service complaints and problems in an effective and expeditious manner. Works to conflict resolution at store level to avoid unnecessary escalation of customer issues.
Ensure that the working environment is safe for customers and employees at all times, appropriately reports or corrects conditions within the store that are unsafe and require attention. Works closely with facilities to address and correct concerns.
Ensures the flow of merchandise and donations extracts the most possible value.
QUALIFICATIONS: (education, work experience, and technical competencies)
College Degree or (5) years management experience
Excellent interpersonal skills.
(3) years customer service and/or relationship experience.
(2) years of experience in a retail company.
Must possess proficient use of basic math skills and/or accounting.
Must be able to read and write English proficiently, or have enrolled in and are on track to successfully complete an approved ESL program.
Must be able to lift a minimum of 35 lbs.
Familiar with cash registers and demonstrate a working knowledge of POS systems and terminals.
Respects and has knowledge of cultures, ethnicities, gender, sexual orientations and age groups other than one’s own, able to work effectively with all.
