The Supplier Quality Engineer acts as the primary point of contact between Anvil and suppliers regarding the quality of purchased components, subassemblies and assemblies . The individual in this position works closely with the Global Sourcing Commodity Manager and Design Engineering to ensure quality requirements are communicated, understood and implemented at supplier locations.

Primary Accountabilities:
Effectively communicate Anvil quality requirements to suppliers and act as the main point of contact with suppliers regarding quality issues. Perform on-site supplier quality system audits, as necessary, to ensure suppliers have implemented an appropriate quality system to ensure all design, quality, and production requirements can be met. Issue Sup plier Corrective Action Requests as needed for product found nonconforming in our stock, or as returned for warranty credit by our customers. E nsure timely and adequate closure of Scars to prevent the reoccurrence of product discrepancies, and eliminate process or quality system weaknesses. Collect data and compile appropriate reports that show supplier quality trends and ultimately the effectiveness of Anvil’s supplier quality program. Enable the use of quality tools and statistical techniques during problem solving and quality improvement activities such as 5 Why analysis, 8D Corrective and Preventive Action, process FMEA, Control Plan, MSA, SPC, and process capability studies, as necessary. Support New Supplier and/or New Product qualification. Help coordinate containment and resolution of product quarantines. Possess a n excellent working knowledge of various manufacturing processes such as machining, casting, forging, metal stamping , assembly and test . Prepare reports and presentations for suppliers and internal departments using Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Perform other Quality related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Quality, or a a technical discipline and a minimum of 3 years of quality related work experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to travel 10 - 20%
Preferable Requirements:
A recognized certification as one or more of the following:
  • Certified Quality Engineer
  • Certified Quality Auditor
  • Certified Six Sigma Black Belt
