Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Department of Transportation (DOT), and other applicable federal, state, and local
regulations. Monitor changes in OSHA or other safety regulations that may affect the region.

Performs tasks related to all of the following functional areas:
Safety
1. Coordinate and ensure implementation of safety-related procedures and programs. Assist with the identification of regional needs for safety equipment and supplies.
2. Coordinate and assist with safety training programs to ensure established requirements are met and that employees are trained in all required aspects of the Workplace Safety Program as used in their daily work.
3. Compile and maintain reports and records pertaining to injury rates, safety record, etc.
4. Ensure maintenance of material safety data sheets.
5. Prepare the agendas of the Safety Committee, record minutes, and related duties.
Claims
1. Receive and process workers' compensation claims and donor/volunteer injury claims for the region/division.
Process all claims according to division procedures. Maintain appropriate records.
DOT
1. Record vehicle accidents and assist in collection of information required to submit insurance claims.
2. Obtain and coordinate the Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) according to Corporate Safety Manual (CSM) requirements for applicable driving employees and maintain records.
3. Monitor DOT related activities to ensure regulatory compliance to include: alcohol and drug training, drug testing, driver qualifications, and vehicle inspection.
4. May be required to drive a Commercial Motor Vehicle upon occasion.
5. Administer DOT program; driver road tests, DOT required training and maintain DOT required files.
6. Perform related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Associate's degree in a related field or equivalent related experience plus a minimum of two years related experience required. Knowledge of organizational policies and procedures that relate to operations within
assigned organizational unit is preferred. Excellent math, verbal and written communication skills. Ability to prepare and edit complex documents is preferred. High level of computer skill proficiency, including but not limited to word processing and spreadsheet applications database programs.
