The Nurse Supervisor Ambulatory oversees the day-to-day clinical operation of designated work unit(s) providing guidance and support to the clinical and support staff to ensure that quality patient or client focused care is delivered. When appropriate, the Nurse Supervisor provides professional patient care utilizing the nursing process in collaboration with the patient, families and interdisciplinary healthcare team to meet educational and discharge needs. This individual may assist in high-risk procedures, surgery and/ or provide patient education in specific units. The Supervisor must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development of the lifespan and assure that age appropriate care is delivered for the population served. In addition, the Supervisor supports leadership through activities that includes development of staff, teaching, community involvement, and participation in committees and research. The American Nurses Association Nursing (ANA) Nursing Scope and Standards of Practice (2004), the AAACN Ambulatory Care Nursing Administration and Practice Standards (2004), and the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses (2001) provides the basis for care.
Current Arizona registered nurse licensure required. Minimum of 2 years registered nursing experience required. **Please note: Those hired as an RN after January 1, 2013 who do not currently have either a baccalaureate or master's degree in nursing will be required to complete a baccalaureate degree in nursing from an accredited program within six years of their start date.**
BSN preferred. Minimum of two years supervisory experience (ambulatory setting) preferred. Strong leadership qualities and skills. Possesses problem-solving and analytical skills. Able to work flexible hours. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Able to adapt to unpredictable situations within the patient care setting. Able to work autonomously and collaboratively in a team environment. Strong computer skills preferred.
License or Certification:
Current Arizona RN license is required upon hire. Basic Life Support certification is required upon hire and must be valid for 90 days or greater from start date. ECG competency completed satisfactorily within six months of hire and maintained annually. Maintains ACLS and PALS as required by specific units. Maintains specialty certification per unit guidelines.

Compensation Detail: Education, experience, and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum salary every two weeks is approximately $2,665.60, based on a full-time position.
