Responsible for providing direct patient care to individuals participating in the inpatient or outpatient cardiac and vascular rehabilitation programs. Collaborates with physicians and other healthcare team members to develop, implement, and monitor the patient's therapy program.


1.Conducts patient interviews and develops individualized therapy program.

2.Implements and supervises therapeutic program for patients and family members.

3.Develops and implements educational programs for patients and families.

4.Performs other duties as assigned.


EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in relevant allied health profession such as Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, Physical Therapy or Nursing required.

EXPERIENCE/TRAINING: Minimum of one year experience in related field required. Two to three years experience preferred.

Previous experience in cardiovascular rehabilitation services preferred.

Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply age specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet each patient's needs.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Licensed by the state as applicable/required.

Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required at date of hire.

ACLS certification may be required.

Certification by the American College of Sports Medicine as an Exercise Specialist or Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist may be required within one year of hire.

OTHER SKILLS: Must have knowledge in cardiac rehab phase I & II exercise techniques, activity levels, monitoring equipment and arrhythmia recognition.

Proficient computer skills including MS Office applications.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Strong customer service skills with emphasis on follow through with customer requests/needs.
