The Patient Accounts Representative position helps manage all aspects of their accounts receivable cycle, including the entry of payments and the balancing and reconciling of those entries against the source documents to achieve improved business performance.
The Patient Representative will work closely with colleagues, departments and payers to develop strategy, procedures and processes to ensure proper reimbursement and timely payments.
Education and/or Experience Preferred:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Medical billing education or the equivalent of one year’s experience in a medical office.
Computer, 10-key skills required.
CPT and ICD-9 coding experience and understanding
One year experience in customer service
Data entry experience preferred
Knowledge and experience of computer functions including terminology and equipment
Ability to reconcile and balance computer entries.
Ability to work together with multiple people to accomplish department goals.
Ability to multi-task, work efficiently and effectively.
