The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for conducting routine tests and inspections on machined, flame cut, and fabricated steel parts, assisting the Quality Manager with data collection, performing capability studies and first article inspections, and recording results. Additionally, the Quality Technician participates in gage studies, participates in the development of standardized work instructions, conducts functional tests, and develops inspection templates. The Quality Assurance Technician will work closely with the Quality Assurance Engineer and Quality Assurance Manager at the Plate facility.
• Qualified candidates must have an Associates degree in related field, preferably Computer Aided Drafting, or commensurate experience. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Demonstrated blueprint reading capability, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), familiarity with ISO requirements and procedures, tool calibration experience, and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint).
Experience in the metals industry with metal forming and fabrication, as well as experience with coordinate measuring devices, FARO measurement arms, standard gauging and practice, and surface plate inspection.
Statistical process control (SPC) experience is preferred.
