    s Program and Ad Sales Finance group has an immediate opportunity for a Sr. Financial Analyst with Business Intelligence experience. This individual will work closely with ESPN’s operational teams to develop the annual budget, quarterly forecasts, long range plan, and monthly close for his/her areas of responsibility. S/he will also have a pivotal role working in a Business Intelligence environment to create, improve, and maintain reports with SAP’s Business Objects tool to be leveraged by the overall Program and Ad Sales Finance team. The role serves as the key analyst representative on a Finance Business Intelligence development team. S/he will have ownership of preparing financial models used for the annual plan and periodic forecasts as well as developing reports used to meet corporate reporting obligations. This individual will also provide strategic financial analyses, industry research, and presentations in support of business decisions.

    Responsibilities
    Forecast and track advertising revenue, programming and rights costs and assist in the preparation of the annual plan, long range plan and quarterly forecasts.
    •Leverage newly implemented Business Object Business Intelligence universes for the benefit of the entire Programming and Ad Sales Finance team including forecast, planning, month-end, and corporate reporting.
    •Lead efforts to transition financial reports from legacy systems to Business Objects/ Business Intelligence environment including creating, improving and maintaining reports based on a Business Object Universe.
    •Consolidate, prepare and deliver daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly/yearly reports to provide senior management as a snapshot of ad sales reporting metrics for various ESPN media groups.
    •Analyze and explain variances of monthly actuals to annual budget, forecasts, and prior year.
    •Prepare weekly reports tracking ad sales performance of programs assigned.
    •Prepare financial models, strategic analysis presentations and assist on special projects as requested.
    Basic Qualifications
    Advanced MS Excel abilities.
    •Front end report development experience in either Business Objects / Cognos / MicroStrategy
    •Demonstrated experience working closely with information systems and/or strong ability to quickly learn new information systems.
    •Data warehouse knowledge and ability to derive data into reports
    •Strong detail orientation to maximize accuracy of numbers presented to senior management.
    •Strong analytical skills along with the ability to effectively communicate analysis to various organizational levels.
    •Propensity to communicate to ensure relevant groups are timely updated on requests.
    •Well-honed interpersonal skills in order to effectively work with varying levels of management and business partners.
    •Intellectual curiosity that fuels questioning and clearly understanding financial results.
    •Willingness to embrace and adapt to an ever-changing environment and work situation.
    •Minimum of 5 years in a corporate finance / business analytics role.
    Preferred Qualifications

    •Demonstrated experience working closely with information systems and/or strong ability to quickly learn new information systems.
    •Demonstrate an ability to translate business needs into technical requirements to assist the Data Warehouse development staff.
    •Must be able to visualize complex reporting graphically, i.e. dashboards, presentation
    •Data warehouse knowledge and ability to derive data into reports
    •Strong detail orientation to maximize accuracy of numbers presented to senior management.
    •Strong analytical skills along with the ability to effectively communicate analysis to various organizational levels.

    Required Education
    BA/BS degree in Finance, Accounting, or equivalent.
