Colgate-Palmolive invites applications to the Scientist/Research Scientist, Personal Care position located in Piscataway, NJ. The responsibilities of this job are as follows:
- Works with functional Research & Development teams, Global Supply Chain and Consumer Innovation Center to support and/or develop new technologies and products
- Plans and conducts experimental tasks to support product development including laboratory testing of products, analyzing data and following aging studies
- Supports product optimization initiatives and effectively utilizes both internal and external resources to achieve project objectives
- Manages fielding of Sensory, Central Location Test, Home Use Test and clinical studies
- Manages internal (i.e., Peers, Supervisors and Marketing) and external communication (i.e., Suppliers) of lab experimental results and related information
- Keeps detailed written record of experimental work/observations and summarizes results in memos and reports
- Maintains documentation such as notebooks, necessary SOP's and Bundle Books (eTeam rooms & PLM)
- Leads Experimental Manufacturing Orders and supports implementation efforts according to CP’s quality requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree required (Chemistry/Physical Sciences preferred)
- Minimum of 1 year laboratory experience required, preferably in Personal Care
- Very good knowledge of Design of Experiments and understanding of statistical analyses techniques
- Organizational skills with ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Product formulation, evaluation and related technology fundamentals expertise
- Extensive pilot scale up experience and experience in supporting EMOs and start-up in manufacturing plants, including contract manufacturers
Ability to initiate and maintain effective working relationships across Research & Development and Global Supply Chain groups
Effective oral and written communication skills
Excellent computer skills (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and excellent knowledge of PDM system
