Job Summary:

Reports to the Director of Telemetry and is directly supervised by the Registered Professional Nurse. The monitor technician has the responsibility to survey the hardware and telemetry units at the nursing station and report any problems or requests for repairs to the appropriate personnel. The technician is also responsible for observing for existing cardiac patterns, changes in cardiac patterns, and to monitor alarms which may sound. The monitor tech will notify the nursing personnel of such changes and document by obtaining a rhythm strip of the change. The monitor tech will also obtain documentation of rhythm strips at predesignated times and attached them to the patients chart.This is not necessarily an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, skills, duties, requirements, efforts or working conditions associated with the job. Certified Nursing Assistant in the state of Georgia or previous Monitor Tech experience required. Advanced EMT/Paramedic preferred. Must pass EKG rhythmn strip exam.
