Process Modeling Engineer - Intern
Job Description: This position involves developing and applying device and process modeling tools, in a highly interactive team environment, to support the development and optimization of leadership process technologies and device architectures. Specific duties may include development of advanced, physics-based simulation tools, algorithms, and methodologies, and application of modeling capabilities to understand fundamental issues in process/device design to accelerate technology development. The individual is expected to actively participate in process technology teams as well as specific tool development teams. Development and application areas include:
* Process: Defect-coupled diffusion/activation, computational materials science, FEM based stress simulation, high-k/metal gate materials and interfaces, modeling of novel processes and materials, software architecture, numerical methods for process problems, three dimension meshing and computational geometry, and parallel programming.
The responsibilities may include software and model development, data analysis and support of external interactions.
This position requires the candidate to be working on a Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field with graduate level courses/projects relevant to semiconductor device and process physics and modeling. The candidate should have demonstrated software skills, preferably with experience in C++/C programming and software design. They must also have strong inter-personal, written and verbal communication skills, and ability to work well in a team environment.
