JOB SUMMARY

The Supervisor is responsible for the housekeeping standards of all guest and meeting rooms, public spaces, hallways, work and storage areas.

May inspect the work of others and may individually clean rooms as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities

Inspects guest rooms, meeting rooms, public spaces, and hallways for cleanliness and order.

·

Coordinates cleaning and maintenance schedules according to guest needs, in coordination with front desk and maintenance personnel.

Verifies completion of laundry and inventory restocking.

·

Trains and coaches housekeeping staff in specific cleaning and room placement job tasks and in completion of daily schedules.

Conducts new employee training.

·

Manages labor costs within budget standards and staffing guidelines for rooms sold.

·

Follows facility safety and security guidelines.

Participates in property safety committee and serves as an emergency responder for the location.

·

Manages supply inventory and monitors storage procedures and Room Attendant cart arrangements.

Ensures safe chemical handling and proper chemical usage procedures.

·

Develops work schedules and coordinates Room Attendant work assignments in conjunction with hotel General Manager or Assistant General Manager and facility staffing guidelines.

·

Conducts regular tours of work areas, reviewing housekeeping efforts of Room Attendants and checking for productivity in completion of assignments.

Provides input to General Manager for associate performance reviews.

·

Ensures that facility complies with brand quality performance standards.

·

Maintains effective guest relationships.

Ensures staff compliance with professional dress and grooming standards.

SKILLS NEEDED

·

Ability to clean and perform housekeeping duties in a lodging facility.

·

Ability to work well with others.

·

Strong work ethic.

·

Must be able to communicate by reading, writing, and verbal command of English.

·

Must have experience using a computer to enter and access information.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

·

Ability to bend at waist and work on knees.

·

Ability to reach over head.

·

Ability to clean and stock shelves.

·

Ability to stand for long periods of time.

·

Ability to climb stairs.

·

Ability to lift and carry 35 pounds.

Other duties may be assigned by hotel leadership as needed.
