Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A., Inc. is currently seeking a Sr. Tax Accountant.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare sales and use tax calculations and analysis to ensure accurate and timely filing of returns and payments with multiple state, city and county authorities
Ability to work to meet sales tax return deadlines on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
Comprehensive knowledge of local sales tax returns for Colorado, Arizona, Alaska, Louisiana, and Alabama
Prepayments for various states
Use tax review and research for purchase orders
Organize and maintain sales and use tax records on a daily basis
Reconcile sales data to tie to returns in excel required
Reconciles tax general ledger accounts
Resolve tax assessments and/or notices through written and verbal communication with state and local tax representatives
Maintain and responsible for notice activity relative to incoming notices and active notice balances
Research and analyze past and current reconciling items in the general ledger
Analyze customer transactions as they relate to tax issues and analyze internal business process
Analyze and review data from internal accounting systems such as SAP and Taxware
Effectively communicate and handle multiple tasks at once
E-File returns using various state websites and process electronic payments
Special projects when necessary
Exemption certificate review knowledge
Qualifications:
BS/BA degree in accounting or equivalent experience
Basic sales and use tax courses or seminars, CMI welcome
Ability to organize, problem-solve, and execute multiple tasks and priorities
Ability to work under tight reporting deadlines as a team player and independently
Minimum of 4+ years of multi-state sales/use tax experience required
Proficient using computer-based accounting, and research systems
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access
Taxware tax engine software, OneSource Sales & Use Tax Returns, and Taxware Step exemption certificate knowledge
Account reconciliations
Must be motivated, and work well independently and in a team environment
