Under minimal supervision and according to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), the incumbent will perform advanced professional accounting duties that require independent judgment and initiative. Duties include analyzing, evaluating, recording and interpreting financial transactions. Identifies problem areas, prepares specialized and standard accounting reports and provides information to auditors and other third parties. Performs periodic operational analyses of accounting procedures and systems to recommend methods for the improvement of efficiency and operational effectiveness. May supervise special initiatives or projects and make recommendations on policies and procedure development for the unit. Prepares and monitors annual budgets and expenditures. May coordinate and schedule activities for subordinate personnel. May coordinate or assists in coordinating training, information systems, cash control and investigative activities for the Division. May act in a lead capacity.

Minimum Training & Experience: Completion of a bachelorÂs degree in accounting from an accredited college or university AND One year of professional accounting experience OR Completion of a bachelorÂs degree in a business curriculum which included completion of introductory and intermediate accounting sequence AND One year of professional accounting experience OR Completion of a masterÂs degree in accounting Note: Some positions may require certifications

Agency Specific Qualifications and/or Preferred Qualifications: More than four years of professional accounting and proven supervisory experience. Advance experience using Excel.
