The Corporate Director of Technology Services' role is to oversee the operations for the infrastructure component of the IT department. This role is to manage, direct and ensure the efficient operation of the enterprise-wide network, client servers, databases, telecommunications, desktop and data center functions. In addition, the position is responsible for developing and implementing technology initiatives that are aligned with the business objectives of the organization. The individual will work with the CIO in providing direction in technology related issues.Areas of Focus: Data Center Relocation and Epic System Conversion.Responsibilities: Participate as a member of the senior management team in governance processes of the organization's architecture, data/voice networks, infrastructure and hardware. Work with CIO to lead strategic technological planning to achieve business goals by prioritizing technology initiatives and coordinating the evaluation, deployment and management of current and future technologies. Develop and communicate business/technology alignment plans to executive team, staff, and customers. Conduct research to remain up-to-date and knowledgeable in regards to industry trends and emerging technologies in anticipation of new business processes and system alterations. Analyze and improve upon technology standards across the organization to maintain a technological and competitive edge within the market. Creatively and independently provide resolution to technical problems in a cost-effective manner. Assess and communicate risks associated with technology-related investments. Develop, track and control the technical services portion of the IT annual operating and capital budgets. Supervise recruitment, development, retention and organization of all technical staff in accordance with budgetary objectives and personnel policies. Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for technology spending and initiatives. Define requirements for new technology implementations. Ensure continuous delivery of technical services through oversight of service level agreements with end users/customers and monitoring of systems and hardware performance. Ensure hardware and software operation adheres to applicable laws and regulations. Define procedures, policies and standards for acquiring, implementing and operating new network systems, equipment and other technologies. Direct development and execution of an enterprise-wide disaster recovery and business continuity plan. Review hardware and software acquisition and maintenance contracts for appropriate terms regarding, configuration, performance, warranty and service commitments.
Position Requirements: Bachelor's degree in the field of computer science or business administration. Master's degree is preferred. Ten years experience managing or directing technological operations. Experience working in the healthcare industry. Experience in strategic technology planning, execution and policy development. Excellent knowledge of technology environments. Solid understanding of computer systems characteristics, features and integration capabilities. Extensive knowledge of data processing, hardware platforms, enterprise software applications and outsourced systems. Technical experience with systems networking, databases, data center functions and user support. Exposure to business processes, management, budgeting and business office operations. Proven experience in planning, organization and development. Demonstrated ability to apply technology solutions to business problems.
