Job Description:
  • Supports the Regional Lead and the PMO in delivery and acheivement System and Network Admininstration Performance Work Statement tasks and Accepted Quality Levels within the specified district
  • Lead dispersed district teams to maintain and utilize various customer computer resources, including servers, LANs, Video Teleconference systems, internet-based systems and applications. Support an enterprise Information Technology O&M program
  • May be required to perform Regional Lead duties during the absence of the Regional Lead
  • Serve as the primary interface at the District level with USCIS counterparts
  • Lead day-to-day System or Network Administration activities and and assist Regional Managers to ensure sites are staffed with qualified support personnel
  • Provide input on performance metrics for presentations and reports on contract progress to customer and senior management
  • Lead team and in some instances perform the following tasks
    • Daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups
    • Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions.Interprets/analyzes incidents and problems and provides technical support for hardware, software, and telecommunications systems
    • Perform daily backup operations, ensuring equired file and data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media, recovery tapes or disks are created, and media is recycled and sent off site as necessary
    • Perform regular file archival and purge as necessary
    • Create, change, and delete user accounts per request
    • Provide Tier II, III/other support per request from various constituencies. Investigate and troubleshoot issues
    • Repair and recover from hardware or software failures. Coordinate and communicate with impacted constituencies
    • Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade admin tools and utilities. Configure/add new services as necessary
      Upgrade and configure system software and infrastructure or Asset Management applications per project/operational needs
    • Maintain operational, configuration, or other procedures
    • Perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning
    • Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required
    • Configure CPU, memory, and disk partitions as required
    • Maintain data center environmental and monitoring equipment
    • Repair and recover from hardware or software failures. Coordinate and communicate with impacted constituencies
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in Information Systems, or related discipline. A minimum of 9 years of experience required.
  • Four (4) + years Systems or Network Administration team lead or shift supervisory experience
  • Five (5) + years experience with Remote Desktop (such as LANDesk) or other remote assistance applications
  • Five (5)+ years experience with Active Directory
  • Five (5)+ years demonstrated technical knowledge and troubleshooting of Microsoft computing hardware, operating systems, and office productivity software
  • Five (5)+ years experience installing operating systems and applications
  • Five (5)+ years experience installing and troubleshooting servers and Storage Area Networks
  • Five (5)+ years solid hardware background with desktop, laptop, printers and scanners
  • Experience with use of Remedy-based ticketing systems
  • Experience with VoIP and voicemail setup and configuration
  • Proven ability to provide excellent customer service
  • Local travel may be required; valid state driver license
Additional Preferred Skills:
  • Experience supporting DHS USCIS is desired
  • Three (3) + years experience with Mobile Communications Devices desirable
  • ITIL v3, A+, Network+, Security+ or Microsoft certification desired
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
