The candidate will be responsible for the design, development, coding and integration of test control software and instrument drivers for custom test systems. These custom test systems provide end customers the ability to perform acceptance, functional and diagnostic testing of customer hardware. Responsibilities will include: Designing, documenting, developing and integrating custom test system software user interfaces Designing, documenting, developing and integrating control software for data acquisition, instrument control, test, measurement, and calibration algorithm development Designing, documenting, developing and integrating custom reporting software Performing software integration with hardware Developing detailed software specification and requirements Prefer familiarity with stand-alone and modular laboratory test equipment; instrument control via GPIB, VXI, PXI, RS232 and LAN; experience in test applications development using LabVIEW, LabWindows CVI, TestStand or C# / C++.

Position Requirements : Candidate must be able to program in LabVIEW, LabWindows CVI and C/C++. Some familiarity with TestStand is preferred. Candidate must be familiar with OOP. Candidate must be familiar with software configuration management. Candidate must be familiar with working with defined software requirements. Candidate must be a self-starter and able to work independently and as part of a team. Work habits should include attention to detail, commitment to meeting project schedules, as well as a desire to continually take on new and challenging tasks. Candidate must be able to lead a small team through the entire software life cycle. Candidate must be able to create detailed documentation for the custom test system software. Candidate must be able to travel to the customer site as required by the project. This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

Responsibilities : Assigned projects are performed with very limited direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining approaches to assignment. Contributes to and/or ensures the completion of milestones associated with specific projects. Failure to achieve results or erroneous decisions or recommendations would typically cause delays and may result in the allocation of additional resources. Problems cover a wide range of complex / difficult issues which require thorough research and analysis of alternatives involving many factors. If no precedent exists, complex problems may require research and analysis of alternatives involving many factors. May require interactions with managers from other dept/groups on technical / policy / operational matters requiring coordination within and between organizations. Contacts are normally both inside and outside division (i.e. customers, vendors, etc.), requiring examining and discussing solutions to issues associated with specific projects. May require access to and use of confidential information. This position serves as a resource to others within the work group, department, and possibly the organization. This position may be responsible for allocating work and/or providing guidance to other employees who perform work that is similar or closely related to this job.

Education : BSEE with 5-7 years experience* or MSEE with 3-5 years experience* or Ph.D. with 3-5 years experience* *Experience in hardware based system software applications development using the above software packages. Candidates with a HW background in RF or digital testing experience would be a plus.
