Independently generate precise, reliable and reproducible data in a timely manner Demonstrate experimental precision and strong data interpretation skills

  • Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures
  • Perform routine tasks competently and independently, and generate reliable and consistent results
  • Analyze and critique results, noting significant deviations
  • Troubleshoot experiments and instrumentation
  • Learn and understand new experimental techniques
  • Demonstrate skill in multiple experimental techniques and appropriately modify protocols, as required to suit the changing needs of research
  • Place data in proper scientific context by consulting and citing relevant literature
  • Demonstrate technical proficiency in field
  • Impact projects predominantly through lab and/or pilot plant based activities
  • Understand and adhere to corporate standards regarding code of conduct, safety, appropriate handling of materials, controlled drug & radioactive compounds, GxP compliance, and animal care
  • Keep accurate and current experiments and/or records of research according to AbbVie policies
  • Optimize procedures to enhance productivity and efficiency
  • Work with direction from a scientific leader


Experience and Education Requirements

  • BS Degree and 3+ years of analytical chemistry experience or MS Degree and 0 years of experience
  • Ability to effectively perform routine tasks competently and independently
  • Proven ability with analyzing and critiquing results, noting significant deviations
  • Previous experience with troubleshooting experiments and instrumentation.
  • Willingness to learn and understand new experimental techniques
  • Demonstrated skill with multiple experimental techniques and with appropriately modifying protocols to suit the changing needs of research
  • Experience with placing data in proper scientific context by consulting and citing relevant literature
