Performs a research and technical expert role for the business and IR, providing guidance to implementation staff and foresight to executive management on technical direction in a particular specialty area. Influences and consults with executive management and project teams. Typically no direct reports. Trains/mentors technical staff. Functions as a technical expert and futurist for executive management and project teams in effective utilization of existing technologies, either enterprise-wide or business-wide. Performs research in technologies that are emerging in the industry as competitive advantage and reports on that research in terms of business opportunities. Assesses viability of emerging technologies for the business and risks/costs involved. Records in written papers the results of research and possible opportunities.
Primary responsibilities will include assisting in developing and maintaining comprehensive web portals to address common end-user needs, back-end process automation, and inventory analysis. Provide transition instruction, documentation and tier three technical support to the production environment. Areas of responsibility will include but is not limited to:
- Assist with the development of Windows ASP.NET Web Portal using C# and .NET 4.0
- Develop product quality assurance measurements and auditing.
- Provide turnover support for engineering efforts to operational organizations.
Must be flexible; there will be time when support activities may involve travel to locations in Bethesda or Frederick, MD. Position hours will be during day shift, however, off hours support and availability is intermittently required.
