CSID is seeking an experienced database administrator (DBA) to join our IT/Operations group. The DBA will be a part of a team of infrastructure and application administrators supporting multiple MySQL database instances, Tungsten Replicator and Linux servers.
The DBA will ensure the database systems are optimized for maximum security, performance, and reliability; will monitor the databases and address issues encountered and respond to issues submitted through a problem management system. The DBA will be a part of an on-call rotation schedule and will be expected to respond to after-hours and weekend issues as they occur.
Primary responsibilities include:
Design, implement, secure and maintain databases for development, test and production environments
Work with product development teams to identify and analyze performance bottlenecks and recommend solutions
Write and modify scripts (e.g.: PHP or Perl) for database access or reporting
Ability to efficiently problem solve and analyze a variety of problems, assess risks and implement solutions while adhering to security standards.
Maintain documentation of database administration procedures, and architecture design
Develop and oversee backup, clustering, replication, and failover strategies
Participate in maintenance windows as required
Participate in cross-training activities to achieve a comfort level supporting Linux servers, as well as cross-train other team members on DBA responsibilities
Work with cross-functional teams to support customer requests as appropriate

Job Qualifications:
Other RDBMS administration experience may be substituted, but knowledge and experience with MySQL is required
Experience with High-Availability database architecture, Tungsten Replicator desirable
Knowledge of Yellowfin Business Intelligence and ETL tools such as Pentaho highly desirable
Professional experience with Linux a plus
Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Ability to respond to, and prioritize incoming requests/notifications and quickly respond to critical issues as they arise
Must be available to work extended hours, including evening and/or weekends as needed
Must be available via telephone or email when out of the office as needed
MS or BS in computer science or related field
In-depth knowledge of company products and services.
3+ years of professional experience with MySQL database administration
