City of Midlothian is currently accepting applications for Conference Center Coordinator . This position will be under the general supervision of the Conference Center Manager.

This position will supervise all aspects of booking and event processes for leases, activities, and events at the Conference Center. Will work with clients to handle customer requests, show and lease rooms, prepare setup, audio/visual and other equipment and catering requests. In the absence of the Conference Center Manager this position will manage the Center and supervise maintenance and custodial staff. Will be responsible for the voice mail information line, the daily event monitor, and internal client signage for events. Will maintain client database and work to assure client satisfaction as well as enforcing security guidelines for all events. Will actively solicit and promote conference center rental opportunities. Will complete and submit daily/monthly sales reports and other duties as assigned.

High school diploma is required. Bachelor’s degree preferred in hospitality services, recreation, advertising, marketing or related field. Three years of experience in a position requiring knowledge of the hospitality industry, advertising, marketing community events or related field. Experience in public facility operations, strong customer service position, or event coordination may be substituted for degree preference. Must have outstanding customer service skills, a working knowledge of public relations, and the ability to express ideas clearly in oral and written form. Basic knowledge of MS Word and Excel is necessary. Skill in the operation of AV equipment, familiarity with basic accounting, billing and contract concepts preferred. Must have a valid Texas driver’s license.

Special Requirements:
Must be able to lift and operate different hand and power tools, and ladders. Must be able to use and move objects and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds for a distance of up to 200 feet; climb up and down a ladder of approximately 10 steps; must be able to perform multiple postures and tasks repeatedly or for a sustained amount of time.
