We invite you to find out more about our company and join our team of caring individuals!Resident's First! isn't just a's a way of life at IMG!Job ResponsibilitiesA Recreational Therapy Assistant is a skilled professional working to support or assist the efforts a Recreational Therapist, Occupational Therapist or other Health Care Professionals in providing treatment of residents. Recreational Therapy Assistant work to improve the physical, mental and emotional wellbeing of residents. They do so by implementing activities, sports, music hobbies, crafts, dance or other activities based on resident's capabilities and desires.. To do so, you will: Speaks with Resident and his or her family or support network and identifies interests.Assists in the planning and engagement of those activities and helping the resident with those activities requiring assistance. Assist the Health Care Professionals in monitoring the success of the chosen activities and assists the resident and Lead HCP set reasonable and obtainable goals.A Recreational Therapy Assistant employed in a skilled nursing facility might help a resident cook breakfast; lead a trip to a nearby shopping center, assisting in stretching exercise program or playing trivia.The main goal for the Recreational Therapy Assistant is to facilitate activities and events that help a resident maintain physical and mental alertness that will allow them greater enjoyment of life.The ability to modify the activity to make it easier physically or cognitively to maximize the resident's full level of independence and engagement. The ability to challenge the resident to stretch higher, move faster, or make broader movements and keeps them motivated because they are having fun. Ability to introduce recreational therapy in a group or one on one. Completes ADL and Activity documentation and prepares notes and periodic reports for medical staff and other members of Interdisciplinary Team, reflecting Residents' reactions and evidence of progress or regression.Displays Job Competencies consistently. Job RequirementsPrefer: 2 year Associates degree in Therapeutic Recreation, COTA, Kinesiology or 1 + years Long Term Care Activity Aide experience, CNA Certificate preferred.
