Responsibilities
Improve the scalability, resilience, observability, and efficiency of our core systems
Code using primarily Scala, Ruby, Java, and C
Build storage systems, libraries, and frameworks that let Twitter grow
Cooperate with other teams and contribute to the external open-source community
Requirements
BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
Extensive experience with web infrastructure, distributed systems, databases, or performance analysis
Expert knowledge of at least one compiled language and one scripting language
Great debugging and reasoning skills
Pluses
Experience with Cassandra, Redis, Memcached, MySQL, or Ruby on Rails
Experience with profiling tools such as Valgrind, YourKit, or SystemTap
Demonstrated contributions to open-source software
Active use of Twitter
Responsible enjoyment of beer
