An Associate’s Degree in electronics or electrical engineering or equivalent related electrical experience is required. National Electronics Code courses, an electrician's license, and/or electronics courses are helpful. Prior commercial or industrial electrical work in maintenance and construction areas is also helpful. Other requirements include the ability to work in a safe efficient and environmentally compliant manner, maintain appropriate records, develop appropriate operating procedures and determine their applicability to plant situations; the ability to train and receive instruction; and the successful completion of the appropriate EEI aptitude test.

This individual repairs, maintains, operates, tests and analyzes a variety of electrical, mechanical and electronic devices and associated equipment at the Hydro generating facilities. To perform this work this individual must possess a thorough understanding of the operation of electromechanical and solid state relaying; programmable logic control (PLC) devices; personal computers and associated hardware and software as used in control applications; various measuring devices including meters and transducers; test and safety equipment use and calibration; motors and the operation of Hydro and combustion turbine-generators. The individual will perform work without direct supervision and will occasionally direct the work of others assisting in electrical, mechanical or electronic maintenance. May work on energized equipment and perform station or substation switching. The ultimate rate for this position is $26.98 per hour.
