The Deli Technician will serve as a subject matter expert for their assigned customer and region in the area of delicatessen products and services. In addition they will provide training and educational programs designed to raise the level of awareness of store brands to maximize corporate brand sales of delicatessen products. In addition, they will d evelop and maintain relationships with the customers regional and in store staff ensuring proper representation of our supplier partner’s products.

Key Position Responsibilities:
  • Train and Coach new and existing employees on equipment, product preparation and merchandising standards
  • Prepare and conduct presentations to our customers district and executive teams to promote and educate them on products and programs
  • Be the subject manner expert on products we represent – serve as our supplier partners training expert
  • Provide assigned support duties and possibly serve as a delicatessen lead for store remodels, new store openings and special sales events –includes being available to work some weekends and holidays as requested by the customer
  • Be fully capable and willing to prepare any food we represent in the delicatessen
  • Coordinate, lead and participate in product demonstration events with the customer associates and/or management teams to help promote or launch new items
  • While working in customer store locations, be available and accessible to store customers to provide appropriate information and answer questions about any delicatessen products in courteous and helpful manner.
Requirements

  • High School Degree or equivalent
  • Prior delicatessen experience is strongly preferred
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to regularly lift and carry containers of food products weighing as much as 25 lbs.; and occasionally must lift and carry items weighting up to 50 lbs
  • Willing able to regularly prepare food items ( meats and vegetables)
  • Willing and able to operate various types of mixing, frying, and baking equipment
  • Willing and able to clean work areas which may consist of work floors and counter surfaces, along with washing and sanitizing cookware according to procedures required by local health departments. This involves contact with water and various cleaning products
  • Willing and able to travel to locations that may require being out of town for up to a week at a time
