The SAP Techncial Consultant is responsible for the on-site design, development and installation of SAP for Plant Maintenance and Materials Managment. This position will be responsible for data migration, data conversion, and system integrations based on customer business requirements and application objectives. The new hire must be able to hit the ground running with very little additional training. For this level of ability, we generally expect that this person will have at least 5 years of lead SAP implementation and configuration experience. A background in oil & gas would be helpful.
This role is responsible for providing application, developmental and user support for SAP including installation, implementation, data mapping, system integration, project planning, scheduling, testing, training, quality assurance. This person will often act as the team lead of the projects they are working on. Strong communication skills are needed in order to work with client Information Technology Department to determine user application requirements, develop and implement solutions to meet those requirements, manage software vendors and identify additional functional areas of improvement.
The Technical Consultant is responsible for ensuring that the client's technical requirements for their CMMS application are identified, enhancements to the system meet business requirements, and implementation of enhancements is well coordinated and communicated. Will be responsible for providing progress reports for progress on plans, budgets and schedules. The Technical Consultant will need strong project management leadership skills and ability to work with other departments to streamline processes and build efficiencies.

General Responsibilities: Work with the client's IT and CMMS provider to identify programing deficiencies, determine appropriate corrective action, apply fixes/patches and verify resolution in the CMMS system. Design documentation, data mapping and technical documentation on any customization or interface. Analyzes business processes and works with client to identify process development initiatives and coordinate implementation of process and SAP system enhancements. Participates in the identification, development and evaluation of business processes/standards to ensure that data integrity and system reliability within SAP is maintained. Assists in the determination of appropriate implementation settings, ensures that application testing, security configurations and overall system performance is maintained. Evaluates system requirements and assists in the implementation of identified system enhancements to meet client needs. Performs and documents application testing upon upgrades and subsequent deployment of upgraded software. Coordinates and/or provides support to client to translate functional specifications to technical specifications and assists in the definition of required application resources to support problem resolution. rovides and utilizes application/technical knowledge, to build and modifying application reports, maintaining application value lists, system settings, maintenance of application security profiles, develop training materials, creating PM Jobs, entity hierarchy structure and writing policies and procedures. Receives and independently resolves general and specific SAP system problems. Monitors and notifies technical counterparts, computer operations and/or network services of user problems accessing the CMMS application. Contacts and/or communicates with all support areas to analyze application problems and questions with the CMMS System; coordinates solutions by offering information regarding product use. Ensures client satisfaction by logging client questions, problems and tracks the same through resolution to ensure a timely resolution. Documents the impact on the client and assigns an appropriate priority level. Provides information and assists client in determining project schedules, strategies and implementation plans for both short-term and long-term timelines.
Requirements: Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience. Five (5) to Eight (8) years of experience in SAP implementation; coordinating business requirements analyses; business driven project management of system enhancements, process management and development. Must have demonstrated experience in meeting deadlines, coordinating, planning, implementation of project activities and resources using flexibility, adaptability, and problem-solving abilities. Skilled in the implementation and configuration of SAP Plant Maintenance and SAP Materials Management. Excellent working relationship with all levels of the Information Technology organizations and ability to work well with all departments and clients to accomplish business objectives. Fosters professional, supportive working relationship with client. Strong leadership skills. Able and willing to make project related presentations or hold periodic product overview training sessions. Skilled in Maximo, Infor, Oracle/J D Edwards maintenance modules and MS products â€“ Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Visio and Microsoft Project.
