      Dimensions: · Direct the Development and execution of Operations Projects by multiple Project Managers within the region including engineering, procurement, construction management, and transition to Operations. Coordinate with Operations in the Region to provide support to continuing and new operations as well as growth projects. Directly manages Project Manager II, Owner’s Project Manager, Projects Administration Manager; indirectly manages Project Engineers and other positions including, but not limited to, Permitting Manager, Safety Manger, HR Recruiter, Accountant, Commercial/Contracts Manager, Mine Engineers, Metallurgists and third-party consultants and contractors. The scope of effort for the position involves single projects less than $100M capital and up to 200 people peak work force on multiple project sites managed directly and indirectly. The total portfolio value of the projects may approach/exceed $1B (for a 5-10year window) and average up to $200M of annual spend.
      Purpose: · Managerial responsibility and accountability of all aspects for definition, execution, and transition to Operations of multiple projects on multiple sites to support ongoing operations as well as growth projects within the region.
      Essential Job Duties: · Based on the approved budget for the projects, authorize commitments and expenditures within authority levels, and control costs within budget limits.
      · Overall responsibility to ensure project functions included but not limited to Project Management, Site Management, Project Control Management, Engineering Management, Procurement, Construction Management, etc are all coordinated and properly staffed to meet the project(s) goals.
      · Participate in and ensure the requirements of Newmont’s Investment System are met, including Stage work, Gate presentations, Execution plans, opportunity and risk management, and application of Value Improving Practices, as applicable.
      · Provide guidance and leadership of Project Development. In this capacity the candidate will be responsible to ensure that all projects are scoped, scheduled, budgeted, staffed and executed as per Newmont policy and procedure.
      · Ensure compliance with all applicable policies, rules, laws and government regulations within Project and Operations Scope.
      · Protect the Project Team from outside influences that could negatively impact the achievement of project(s) goals.
      · Primary responsibility for the delivery of project business investments within the approved investment criteria.
      · Coordination and communication with Newmont Regional Project Director as needed on major projects in the Region.
      · Coordination with regional and site management on status, significant trends and changes of approved projects.
      · Establish the working relationship with operations management needed to facilitate the coordination and execution of project work, such that the operational impact is minimized.
      · Overall accountability for Projects and Project Sites during execution including Engineering, Materials, Construction, HSLP, ESR, Business and Operational Readiness.
      · Develop the project(s) organization and structure, contracting strategy and resource plans.
      · Ensure an achievable program is set and maintained for the establishment of the business.
      · Ensure accurate and timely reporting standards are maintained throughout the project(s).
      · Deliver expected results appropriate to the Leadership Pipeline Manager of Managers.
      · Ensure safety and QA/QC programs are established by all parties and maintained.
      · Overall control and management of the Business Scope of Work to be completed.
      · Provide direction and review the performance of Project Management personnel.
      · Management of multiple AFEs applicable to Projects being executed.

      Training & Experience: · B.S. degree in Engineering and 15 years project engineering, management experience or equivalent combination of training and experience are necessary.
      · A proven track record in project execution and demonstrated commitment to the successful implementation of the project.
      · Possess personal qualities of professional leadership, sound judgment, strong interpersonal skills and business acumen.
      Working Conditions: · Primarily office, but will be required to access mining areas, rough terrain, and exploration sites on a daily basis.
      · Position may require frequent and/or extended travel.
