The Billing Representative will ensure timely and accurate customer billing.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Edit customer accounts for reading and work order errors
Enter work orders as needed for investigations
Contact customers by phone to discuss questions concerning billing issues as needed
Manage Special Billing Programs (i.e. Budget, FixedBill, etc.)
Enter various usage and/or dollar adjustments on individual accounts as necessary (i.e. successor errors, cross meters, misreads, etc.)
Continually reviewing and updating customers’ tax status
Perform other job duties as assigned
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associates degree or equivalent with a minimum of 3-5 years of related customer service or billing experience or appropriate experience as deemed by Supervisor.
Must be able to successfully complete a series of customer relations and billing skills-related tests.
Must be able to work flexible shifts as needed to meet the needs of the department.
Must be able to handle each task received from customers, both internal and external, in an efficient manner with a positive and pleasant attitude.
Must have excellent customer service, oral and written communication, interpersonal, problem solving and teamwork skills.
Advanced PC skills required including Microsoft Word and Excel, Internet Software and Email. Advanced math skills necessary with proficient calculator operation ability.
Attention to detail, accuracy, desire to accept new challenges, willingness to learn and ability to work independently and in a team environment required. Demonstrated prioritization, organization and time management skills to prioritize workload while meeting critical deadlines
Outlook Express and enQuesta experience preferred.
Accounting background preferred.
EPB working experience preferred.
Working knowledge of Special Billing Programs, i.e. Budget Billing, FixedBill, Customer Requested Due Date, etc.
