Bachelor's degree in education, human services or related field.
Fluent in English; Spanish fluency strongly preferred.
Five years experience in childhood education and/or program management with highly developed organizational skills and ability to motivate and develop staff.
Solid Interpersonal/Public Relations skills; ability to relate to children and families, volunteers, external partners and contributors, and other YMCA staff.
Proven ability to have initiative, good judgment and ability to make decisions independently.
Ability to develop short & long term plans with a high degree of quality, effectiveness and professionalism.
Ability to prepare, monitor and control budgets.
Excellent written / oral presentation skills.
Computer literacy (ie: Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, Outlook).
A desire and willingness to work in low income communities and/or communities with special needs.
Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with families and adhere to required confidentiality practices.
Ability and experience leading small group meetings.

Manage, Develop, Expand and Enhance the YMCA Starfish Academy Afterschool and Summer Camp program model.
Lead and continue to develop the Parents as Teachers and Getting Ahead program models, and other direct-service family support programs as identified, ensuring the delivery of relevant and most current concepts.
Supervise, train, evaluate, and support all of Community Development program staff.
Ensure programs consistently meet quality and safety requirements of the YMCA of Greater Charlotte, and align with regulations of partnering entities, namely Charlotte-Mecklenburg and Mooresville Graded Schools.
Ensure all quality standards and risk management training is in compliance with association and industry standards.
Meet all program enrollment and data management goals, and determine and track the outcomes needed to ensure impact on child developmental and academic success, including long-term impact on participants and families.
Develop and manage annual departmental budgets. Support the development of new funding sources and expansion of current, i.e. campaign donors, grants, events and sponsorship, in partnership with Director of Evaluation and Grant Development and Resource Coordinator.
Ensure proper and timely collection process of all fees.
Maintain adequate records to evaluate, control, and measure the effectiveness of assigned areas of responsibility.
Collaborate with YMCA branches and staff, as well as community organizations, to enhance the capacity of the entire association's Community Development efforts and to better integrate work within YMCA branches.
Represent the YMCA and maintain appropriate relationships with area organizations, community leaders and businesses.
Actively participate on the YMCA of Greater Charlotte Afterschool and Day Camp Program Management Teams.
Participate in and provide leadership for the annual Community Support Campaign in all assigned areas.
