All (infant to age 18) pediatric patients requiring non-intensive care. About 40% of patients have cardiovascular needs. Other service lines included pulmonary, general pediatrics, general surgery, specialty surgery (orthopedics, ENT, neuro, trauma, ophthalmology), and neurology. 45% of patients are under age 2. Bed capacity: 24. Provides care to pediatric cardiac, neurology, solid organ (heart) transplant, infectious disease, CF, pulmonary, and general medical surgical patients and their families. Performs advanced monitoring using current technology. Manages complex medication and infusion therapies. Care for patient undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures/interventions on the unit. Demonstrates ability to safely and accurately operate unit equipment.
MN RN licensure. BLS required. A minimum of one year current pediatric RN experience in a hospital based pediatric unit is preferred, extended orientation may be offered. BSN preferred. Certification in a Pediatric clinical specialty is highly desired.
