Sr. IT Application Support/Development Analyst
, located in
. This is 3rd Level application support position for our iSeries
applications. The selected candidate will be part of a team that is responsible for day-to-day support of a wide variety of custom written and purchased applications. Duties include responding to and resolving incidents within their service level agreements (SLA). The Third level support team is responsible for the training and collaborating with 2nd level teams. Additional duties include participating in the afterhours “on call” rotation, application maintenance, participating in audits and miscellaneous duties as assigned.
- Provide level 3 application support / incident management of issues for a wide variety of applications. Which includes: participating in a 24x7 on call rotation, working with the help desk to act as a problem solution resource, creating troubleshooting and resolution documents for helpdesk and other 2nd level analysts to follow.
- Problem management of underlying root causes of incidents. Provide leadership to help reduce the on-going support costs. Collaborate with other developers to program/configure, test, and deploy fixes in upcoming releases.
Organizational process improvement, collaborate with other support teams to develop and improve processes, provide complex enterprise-wide solutions, take actions on items important to business continuation.
- Establish relationships with business partners and develop a good understanding of the business areas and goals. Understand both business and technology. Communicating problem status with key business partners.
- Work with the development teams to keep updated of new development efforts that will be supported. Make recommendations regarding support transition guidelines.
Bachelors degree & a minimum of 10 years application development and support, OR high school diploma/GED & a minimum of 15 years application development and support.
5+ years of working with applications written in RPG III.
Self-starter, analytical thinker that consistently resolves ongoing issues or defects.
Dedicated team player with solid communication (verbal & written).
Innovative with proven ability to identify, analyze and solve problems to increase customer satisfaction.
Ability to provide excellent system reliability, performance, high availability, trouble shooting and problem resolution.
Demonstrated ability to make independent decisions regarding on the spot operational and application corrections, workloads, and operations within standardized practices and procedures.
Ability to work non-standard hours in support on-call rotation
Bachelor’s degree in MIS / Computer Science, or Business / Finance with a Computer Science Minor.
5+ years of working with applications written in Synon 2E.
5+ years of working with Query/400 or SQL/400
