Garmin’s Aviation Systems Engineers work with customer and project engineers to develop concepts for complex products including product definition, feasibility study and market analysis. This includes collecting information regarding product required functionality, manufacturing, installation, operating environment and interfaces, and utilizing the information to guide product design decisions, maintaining, communicating and allocating requirements to ensure compatibility among subsystem and researching emerging technologies and components which have potential to provide a competitive advantage.
Aviation Systems Engineers will also participate in product design activities including electrical, software, or mechanical development.
Qualified candidates for this role will possess a Bachelor of Science Degree in an Engineering, Science, Mathematics or another related technical field from a four year college or university with a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA, or a minimum of 10 years experience performing a role substantially similar to the essential functions of this job description. Candidates must also possess experience through educational projects or internships in designing multi-disciplinary technical systems, demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, and superior organizational and analytical skills with keen attention to detail and quality.
Candidates who possess a Bachelors or Masters Degree in Electrical, Software, Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with superior a 3.5 or higher cumulative GPA and at least 5 years experience performing a role substantially similar to the essential functions of this job description are preferred.
