Provide analytical support to the account team (Account Managers, Category Leadership Managers, Customer Logistics, and Customer finance), Business Management Team (BMT) and buyers. This role is the primary contact for the assistant buyer and Walmart planner. Responsible for turning data into actionable insights and proactively presenting recommendations for strategic direction of assigned business segment. Responsible for making recommendations for promotional activities, pricing, new item introductions, modular sets and daily business opportunities. Accountable to the account team to provide analytical insight primarily from Retail Link but also to include IRI, Spectra and other information resources to cross reference trends and accuracy. Develops recommendation for internal & external business planning processes integrating customer specific data for sales trends, new items, modular changes and Promo performance. The Walmart Account Manager will demonstrate a level of proficiency and understanding of the business that will allow he/she to fill in for the account manager during brief periods of absence without interruption to internal or external customers.
Actively involved in setting the strategic direction for assigned business segment
Execute, in conjunction with Sr. Account Manager, national and account specific programs designed to achieve profitable sales volume, Excellence in Availability, optimal distribution and competitive retail pricing. Secure maximum display, merchandising and advertising support while securing "Excellence In Availability" modulars and schematics
Develops in depth presentations to ensure the achievement of the customers' and Mars Chocolate North America (MCNA) business objectives
Develops selling stories for customer segment and/or brand programs, leveraging proprietary Category Leadership knowledge and Brand proposition points-of-difference to make fact-based and compelling cases for assigned segments
Analyzes the customers business in relation to the market, category and MCNA business to develop tactical sales plans to achieve the customers and MCNA growth and profit objectives
Is accountable for assigned business segment budgets and ensures all budgets are managed within MCNA policies and budgetary requirements. Immediately identifies any deviations and takes corrective action.
Evaluates all customer and consumer promotions to ensure profitable trade spends and recommends changes to ensure efficient and effective trade programs
Identifies and analyzes business trends utilizing syndicated data, account profitability and category information. Develop action plans to capitalize on the business opportunities for the customer
Partners with account manager and operations manager to provide accurate and timely volume forecast for assigned segments
Responsible for the accurate and timely consolidation of analysis and insight into consistent, actionable formats and the communication of the findings to the account team and customer
Consults with Account Teams and Buyers to proactively identify appropriate analytical needs
Responsible for creating new analysis models/processes for the Account Team to more effectively utilize the Retail Link Data and cross-reference other data sources
Responsible for maintaining technical skills on all appropriate software applications that will provide optimum level of support to assigned teams and/or associates. The Account Manager is account teams subject matter expert in Retail Link
Participates with the Account Team (Account Manager and Category Leadership Manager) in Business Reviews, analyzing and communicating the 'State of the Business', including promotional activities, pricing, new item introductions and Ad Hoc reporting
Responsible for managing projects related to daily business opportunities and Retail Link data as assigned by Account Manager or as requested.

3 years experience in Sales, Project Management, and/or Category Leadership within the CPG industry
The knowledge, skills, and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience.
Ability to travel a minimum 15% of the time
A valid driver's license and clean driving record are required
Successful completion of a drug and background screen
4+ years experience in Sales, Project Management, and/or Category Leadership within the CPG industry
Key Account management or National Account Management experience
2+ years detailed experience working with syndicated data
Vision Chain / MicroStrategy preferred
