Iowa State University (ISU) Industry Contracts Team is accepting applications for a position of Associate Director, Industry Contracts, who will report to the Director of the Office of Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer. The Associate Director, Industry Contracts will lead the group at ISU that is responsible for negotiating industry sponsored project contracts and similar agreements. The Associate Director will develop appropriate policies and procedures related to engaging in sponsored projects with industry. The responsibilities of this position also include reviewing and coordinating with other university departments on issues related to sponsored projects such as export control, purchase of equipment, and intellectual property. Specific duties include the draft, review and negotiation of terms and conditions of agreements; ensuring compliance with internal policies, agency guidelines and government regulations; and providing advice to assist with resolving problems and complex issues related to sponsored projects. The Associate Director will be part of a team at Iowa State focused on engaging industry across the university and growing these interactions.
The successful candidate will possess the ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects, possess excellent oral and written communication skills, have the ability to work independently, and have the ability to manage a team of professionals. The candidate will also have the ability to create and implement innovative solutions to develop successful partnerships between the university and industry sponsors.
Bachelor's degree and 8 years related experience OR Master's degree and 6 years related experience. Must have 5 years of experience negotiating industry contracts in a university setting.

- Experience developing and implementing policies and procedures related to sponsored funding
