Over the past few months we’ve released the Bing Decision Engine, grown market share, and created momentum that is driving excitement and anticipation about the next steps in the evolution of Bing. One of the foundations of the Bing technology is the Cosmos distributed storage and execution services. In addition to efficiently leveraging thousands of machines and hundreds of terabytes of information to power services and key features across Bing, Cosmos is the foundation for the mission critical business and customer intelligence information that drives product strategy across OSD services. At this point we’ve just scratched the surface of what is possible in this area with plans to expand the scope and reach of the Cosmos data store, execution engine, query language, developer tools, and data management tools. To help us in this endeavor we’re looking for an experienced and technical Test Manager with solid skills in software engineering, developing effective test strategies, applying effective testing techniques, data management, and Internet scale technologies to help create high quality Cosmos releases that serve as the infrastructure for Bing.
The ideal candidate is an L65+ manager with experience leading teams and contributing as an integral part of a very senior dev\test\pm functional triad. The ideal candidate possesses knowledge of all aspects of software development including formal and informal testing techniques. A proven track record of successful people and thought leadership through multiple software releases is required. Prior experience building software platforms, testing database systems, testing software + services, and designing distributed systems is a plus. As this is a highly visible role, experience successfully presenting quality and engineering related topics and proposals at the executive level is a plus.
If you’re looking for a new challenge with opportunities for growth and want to help shape the future of Microsoft Bing, we’d love to hear from you.
