Chevron Products Company is accepting online applications for the position of Commercial Transportation Manager - Pascagoula located in Pascagoula, MS through March 1, 2013 at 11:59 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time).
The Transportation & Operations department seeks to optimize the performance of Chevron's assets while meeting customer requirements. We ship crude oil, intermediates and refined products to meet system requirements in global markets.
This position oversees rail shipments for products from or to the Pascagoula Refinery. This is the focal point for coordinating rail into or from the refinery. Implements regulatory compliance, incident free operation and product integrity initiatives for transportation related issues.
Key Job Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
Establishes, monitors, and reports local performance standards for operations by rail carriers. Fosters improvements in carriers' performance.
Assists in LPG coordination through interface with LPG Supply & Trading and Refinery Operations Group.
Analyzes/evaluates the cost/economics of the current transportation system and provides guidance to clients to jointly improve the transportation process.
Monitors, measures, and improves tank car utilization. Forecasts the number of railcars required.
Utilizes specific, transportation-related computer systems (e.g. Railtrac, Bill of Lading) to carry out above job functions in the most efficient and effective manner.
Is Onsite coordinator for railroad oversight and manages daily railcar switching performance & loading by contract switching company and assists Refinery in maintaining integrity of owned rail track.
Stewards the switching contractor in the use of Loss Prevention System.
Works with the Rail Transportation Group on tank car maintenance, DOT compliance and new or existing contracts.
Manages and approves bidding, analysis, negotiation, and contracting processes in conjunction with Procurement for localized rail services for transportation of product and purchased materials.
Provides hazardous materials regulatory and emergency response assistance on LPG, sulfur, Ammonia, Paraxylene, base oil and other products shipped to or from the Pascagoula Refinery. This includes Operational Excellence Management System (OEMS) compliance and the training of refinery personnel on HazMat.
Liaison with Federal Railroad Administration & DHS for rail shipments.
Serves as Refinery Emergency Responder and Chevron Site Liaison for offsite hazardous material spills and transportation incidents. On call 24 hours per day, 7 days per week for emergency response.
Initiates Incident Investigation and Reporting for Rail Transportation at Pascagoula, using the Loss Prevention System (IMPACT).
This is a Safety Sensitive Position & will require TWIC credentials.
This job is a 5 day/8 hour per day work schedule and is not eligible for the 9/80 work schedule.
NOTE: Position requires occasional domestic travel.
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years experience working in/around processing facilities (refineries, chemical facilities, terminals) or 3 years experience in transportation field.
Rail loading or shipping experience.
Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Engineering, Economics, Sciences, Business Admin. or Computer Science.
Relocation may be considered within Chevron parameters. *LI-KM1
