Education Required: Associates Degree in computer Science or related filed. A minimum of 1 year work experience with a degree or a minimum of 3 years work experience without a degree.
Skills Required: Must able to provide IT customer service on Microsoft Windows based desktop microcomputers, peripherals and basic networking and email services including Active Directory management. Must have strong troubleshooting, organizational and communication skills with the ability to provide c ustomers over the shoulder assistance in resolving computer related issues. M ust possess the ability to work both independently and as team members in a highly dynamic environment. Must be capable of installing and configuring new hardware and software and updating existing software and security protocols.
Skills Desired: ITIL v3 certification. Experience with Web Help Desk, Linux, Active directory policies group and users, file shares, PortChecker, HP printing devices and virtualized environments. Experience in assets management including use of bar coding and Intermec scanners.
Position Description: Perform Tier 0, 1 and 2 support for information technology users including desktop computing support and problem resolution including installation and configuration of hardware and software. Provide basic service and support of the standard hardware, software, and network, web, and e-mail systems. Ensure users systems are relevant and using approved software regularly updated to retain currency and to meet evolving mission requirements. Install hardware equipment and software to include connecting equipment to other equipment and/or the network. Perform such installation work while maintaining the integrity of existing systems and service; test all installed and terminated equipment for proper connectivity and transmission throughput in accordance with industry standards; and disposal of all equipment and applications replaced in accordance with standard procedures. Tasks may be performed in a wide variety of workspaces including behind or under furniture, accessible spaces, behind access panels, under raised floors, and in various sizes of rooms. Install various customer equipment software applications to include existing Windows-based devices and future Linux or emergent functionality, and associated ancillary hardware applications. Perform equipment relocation as required by the customer. Install new or upgraded software applications to include system connection, performance optimization, and application compatibility resolution. Install, configure and maintain departmental servers. Tasks include, Install, configure and maintain, Active Directory, policies, group, users. Understand Group Policy Administration; GPO’s Create, Edit and delete; and Install, configure and maintain, File Shares, user directories and other related windows systems; and Support virtualized environments.
Security Clearance: US Secret clearance is preferred but not required. Must meet basic DoD 8570 certification requirements and pass a National Agency and credit level check
