Accounts Receivable & Payable Clerk

Job Summary

Records payments to customers' accounts and maintains accounts receivable records. Compiles and maintains accounts payable records.

Job Accountabilities
Prepares daily cash deposits. Fills out cash control sheet daily. Enters finalized cash receipts and updates accounts receivable ledger. Obtains and mails invoice copies for customers, as requested. Processes daily credit card deposits. Files check stubs and bank receipts. Researches and processes charge backs, returns, and bad checks. Answers accounts receivable phone inquiries. Calls and/or mails correspondence to customers as necessary in order to update accounts. Checks and approves all vouchers for payment. Prepares invoice deduction notices as necessary. Answers vendor inquiries. Analyzes vendor accounts and negotiates extended terms with vendors. Prepares accounts payable checks. Compiles accounts payable reports Maintains all accounts payable files. Prepares analysis of accounts. Assists in monthly closings and special projects as necessary Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Job Qualifications

Minimum Education: Student / Degree Accounting
Minimum Experience: 2 years.
Preferred Experience: 3-5 years, or equivalent combination of education and experience
