PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The Electrician performs a variety of duties in and around the hospital/facility complex. These duties include, but are not limited to, assisting with the repair and maintenance of machinery, mechanical equipment, and buildings. Under the supervision of the Director of Plant Operations, is responsible for complete maintenance, repair/replacement and installation of hospital wide electrical systems, including generation, distribution and equipment related thereto. Performs and oversees all duties necessary to maintain, install, trouble shoot, and repair all electrical circuits, equipment, etc., as described under duties of Electrician.
The person in this position works under general supervision, is responsible for various shifts, may be subject to over 40 hours per week and/or callback as required, and may also be required to remain on campus immediately before, during, and after severe weather and/or disasters.
- High School Degree, General Education Degree or Vocational School graduate
- Five (5) years working in electrical field with controls highly preferred
- Valid Journeyman's Electrician License
- Thorough understanding of trade with supervisory skills and knowledge of NEC codes
