The engineering technician will support the Bakken operations for the Dunn Center and New Town operations. This person will be based in the Dickinson, North Dakota office.
The successful candidate for this position will be responsible for technical and operational support of our chemical, corrosion and integrity management programs as they relate to surface facilities and subsurface well equipment. He or she will interface directly with engineering, operations field staff and chemical vendors to help optimize our current and future chemical programs. This person will be a key member of our failure analysis team and will be expected to provide solutions that increase downhole and surface equipment longevity and performance.
Coordinate chemical treatment program with vendor.
Identify, formulate, implement, analyze and document baseline sampling and non-routine testing programs to help identify problems and answer failure related questions.
Track and monitor failures and other operational problems related to surface and downhole equipment used on well locations.
This includes failures or other problems related to corrosion, erosion, scale deposition, paraffin deposition, emulsions, bacterial related deposits/corrosion/souring; cathodic protection of piping, tanks and vessels etc.
This includes surface equipment such as tanks, heater treaters and their associated fire tubes, other pressure vessels, facility piping and pipeline systems and downhole equipment such as tubing, rods, pumps, casing etc..
Analyzes data sets of water analyses provided by chemical vendors, gas analyses and production rate data to identify trends and potential issues before they arise in particular wells.
Coordinates preventative corrosion protection programs such as anode replacement, chemical treatment and coupon/scale monitoring programs
Provide technical guidance regarding the procedures related to batch treatments, remedial R&M work or other jobs where chemicals are used to treat a surface or subsurface issue.
High School Diploma or GED required.
Degree: Associates degree or higher in Chemistry is preferred but degrees in other life or physical sciences may be substituted
Major Discipline: Technical Field
Years Experience: 4 year degree in chemistry or applicable associates degree with two years background in oilfield chemical programs preferred.
Computer Proficiencies: must have excellent skills in the use of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Working knowledge of Access is a plus.
