Acentia is seeking an Oracle Database Administrator to join our team.
The Database Operations Administrator will install, configure, manage and maintain the Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server database environments, including overall support for current and new functions involving enterprise database standards, enterprise database systems and related activities.
Current Operational Environment:
Operating Systems: Linux and Windows (Currently, migrating off of Oracle 8i/9i/10g on AIX/HP-UX/Solaris to Oracle 10g/11g on Red Hat Enterprise Linux)
Database Management Systems: Oracle 10g/11g, MS SQL 2005 and 2008 R2
System Firewalls: Linux IP tables/Shorewall
Intrusion Detection Systems: Tripwire Enterprise
Storage: Fiber SAN
Monitoring: Oracle Grid, Nagios, Splunk
Log Management: Splunk
Scripting Languages: sh/bash/ksh
Network Services: SSH/SCP/SFTP – HTTP – RSYNC – DNS – FTP - NFS
Backup & Recovery: RMAN and NetBackup 6.5.x and 7.x
Report Generators: Crystal Reports, IBM Actuate Report Writer, IBM Imprompu, JASPER
5 years experience and in-depth understanding of Oracle backup and recovery methodologies
Experience in RMAN is required
2+ years experience with database reorganization, migration, capacity planning, disaster recovery and high-availability
2 years experience with data analysis, logical and physical data modeling
Experience in SQL and performance tuning
Experience in implementing operational automation using scripts
Must have knowledge of indexes, index management, and statistics
Working experience with data management and data processing flowcharting techniques
Working experience with reporting and query tools and practices
Working experience with software engineering principals and industry practices
Working experience with definition and implementation of data management practices
Working experience with multi-tiered applications
Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline (Preferred)
Must be able to pass a MBI (Minimum Background Investigation)
