DESCRIPTION

Position based in Newport with travel to St. Johnsbury.

DUTIES

  • Provide technical support and problem resolution to end users at multiple sites. Deliver training to end-users individually and in groups.
  • Troubleshoots network performance issues and creates and maintains a disaster recovery plan.
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
  • Recommends upgrades, patches, and new applications and equipment.
  • Provides technical support and guidance to users.
  • Familiar with and able to comply with provisions of HIPAA and HITECH.
  • Develops and maintains all systems, applications, security, network configurations and web site(s), to include inter and intranets.
  • Evaluates new information systems products or services and suggests changes to existing products or services to better aide the end user.
  • Infrastructure includes work stations and all connected devices, servers and all connected devices, printers, network devices, such as hubs, switches, routers, print servers and internal wiring components, such as patch panels and wire runs. Also included are phone systems and related equipment.
  • Implements policies and procedures regarding how problems are identified, received, documented, distributed, and corrected. Generates a number of internal reports from this data.
  • Assists in the development of reports and data bases for staff utilizing various tools including Access, SQL Server and other database tools.
  • Performs general maintenance on servers, to include Windows environment as well as IBM AS/400, monitoring disc space. Completes software upgrades and works with the vendor on error corrections.
  • Possesses working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • May provide support for Agency's video-teleconferencing system and components.
  • Monitor and manage network performance.
QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree preferred. Associate's degree candidates must have two or more year's field experience in computer network systems. * Provide technical support and problem resolution to end users at multiple sites. Deliver training to end-users individually and in groups.
