The Chaplain Resident will attend discharge planning sessions and other patient care conferences as needed while visiting referred patients and their family on the assigned units or according to appropriate case finding criteria. Will keep patient care and statistical records, and report regularly to the Director of the Department for coordination of pastoral care activities and for supervision of clinical work.
The qualified candidate must have completed one unit of Clinical Pastoral Education or equivalent, must have an endorsement by a religious body to serve in the chaplain role, and must possess personal and professional qualities appropriate for serving as a spiritual counselor in a hospital setting is essential. Graduation from a college, seminary or equivalent, and theological education are preferred. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
