Provides project management and sourcing expertise to cross-functional, cross-divisional commodity teams. Facilitate these teams in the development and execution of longterm strategies that will optimize Medtronic’s position in terms of quality, cycle/response time, technology, risk, and total cost. Mitigate risk, leverage technology and purchase
power, improve processes and systems, and reduce overall cost of ownership and acquisition. Negotiate, establish and monitor supplier agreements.
Performs supplier performance management on a day-to-day basis.
Ensures compliance with policies and procedures
Assures execution to Business goals and objectives
Manages and leads purchasing activities
Provides focused Sourcing Purchasing for specific commodities.
Accountable for overall supply continuity for assigned commodities.
Manages raw material inventory and ensure optimization to Kanban loops.
Communicates issues, actions, and strategies to Sourcing and Site Sr. Leadership teams.
Provides sourcing support to manufacturing sites overseas.
Negotiates, establishes and monitors supplier agreements.
Performs other position duties as assigned.
Reports any observed or informed process and/or product non-conformities to the Supervisor for action and resolution.
Reports any complaint regarding a Medtronic product to the Supervisor.
Complies with all the requirements in the operational procedures at the area of responsibility in order to meet the requirements of all applicable Quality System Regulations (e.g.: FDA Part 820 Quality System Regulation, ISO 13485 Quality Standard, R-PAL (Japanese QSR’s).
Acknowledge and maintain commitment with the EHS Policy.
Participate in the development of EHS improvement projects.
Participate actively in the EHS programs to achieve the objectives and targets defined for the area.
Educational: Business Administration, Engineering or related field
Experience: Principal Level: 7+ Years with Bachelors or 5+ Years with Masters
Exposure to supply chain, manufacturing and sourcing environment
Quality and Results Oriented
Fluency speaking and writing in English and Spanish
Experience in medical device, pharmaceutical, or electronic industry
APICS, CPIM or CIRM certification
Knowledge in MRP/ERP and inventory control systems
Working knowledge of APS (Advanced Planning Systems) or MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems)
Experience with supplier alliances, partnership agreements, supply chain management contracts and negotiating pricing &complex agreement.
Physical Job Requirements
Capacity to calculate, classify, compare, coordinate, copy, edit, evaluate, interview, instruct, read, observe, organize, plan, compile, select, request and document.
Light work requiring physical effort, in addition, requires communication skills, capability to move from one place to another, visual discrimination and tolerance to the use of personal protection equipment.
Work is performed in building’s interior with normal temperature, good illumination, air condition, clean environment and minimum risk
