Hourly Library Assistant II Substitute
The Indianapolis Public Library is currently seeking a professional Hourly Library Assistant II to work as a Substitute for the system with a mandatory Lawrence Branch Sunday Assignment. Under direct supervision, the selected candidate will perform a variety of clerical and/or technical tasks in support of the assigned function in a manner that ensures that the Library’s public service priorities are met. Specific duties vary from checking in and out a patron, handling over-dues and fines, processing library cards, reserves and answering telephone inquiries.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Accept and process all outgoing and incoming materials from patrons in a timely manner.
Assist patrons with library card applications.
Process and shelve holds.
Prepare cash drawer, including preparation of bank deposit.
Assist patrons with questions regarding library policies and services.
High School diploma or GED
Candidate must be available to work throughout Marion County.
Since this is a substitute position, we cannot guarantee the number of hours that one may work. We offer a business casual dress code and a professional work environment.
