Under Armour is looking for a Materials Development Rookie to assist in building great product
What you’ll do as the Materials Development Rookie:
Obtain a deeper understanding of materials and the materials development process
Analyze the material process and create a strategic and tiered point of view around textiles developed, usage of textiles and process efficiencies by gender and end use
Identify usage of excess SMS yardage and create a point of view on potential for additional sales or fulfilling an internal product need
Communicate directly with counterparts in Asia to gain an understanding of the mill matrix
Utilize the internal data system to update material information
Attend and contribute to cross departmental meetings
Leave UA with firsthand knowledge of the performance apparel supply chain; starting with design, evolving through development and final factory sourcing
What UA is looking for in their Materials Development Rookie:
High degree of verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to effectively and concisely present information at all levels
Ability to multi-task in a fast paced, ever-changing environment, and work as part of a team
Passion for textile and materials and a willingness to learn
Proven ability to think critically, problem solve, analyze needs, and offer solutions
Experience in data mapping
Additional Skills and Experience:
Understanding of the textile development process and an interest working long term in the field
Consumer and business analytics
Internal client partnership-building with teams
Intellectual curiosity and ability to learn quickly
Strong presentation skills
Passion to win
Participation and leadership with campus organizations, clubs, athletics teams is a plus
Qualifications to be considered :
Must be currently enrolled in a full time academic program as a rising college senior, (completed his or her junior year in May 2013) with a related degree e.g. Textile Technology
Suggested grade point average of 3.2 or above. The candidate must submit copies of his or her academic transcripts to be considered
Willingness and ability to relocate to Baltimore, Maryland during the duration of the internship, Tuesday, May 28, 2013 – Friday, August 9, 2013
