SENIOR CONSTRUCTION ENGINEER II
Provides engineering assistance to superintendents, directs assigned personnel in meeting cost and time schedules, verifies materials, equipment, workmanship and assures results meet design requirements. Leads construction engineers in a broad range of construction engineering work within a specific engineering discipline for a particular area of the project. May act as Project Field Engineer on a moderate sized project.
On a large job, functions as a lead discipline engineer, coordinating all related discipline activities and interfacing with other areas/disciplines on the job. On a medium to small job, performs the duties of a lead engineer in either an area, coordinating and directing a variety of disciplines, or as a Project Field Engineer or Project Field Quality Control Engineer, coordinating all activities related to the operation of the assigned operating section.
Reviews design change documents for completeness adequacy, and constructability. Reviews Master Equipment or Component List, Bill of Materials, Vendor Drawings, and other data that directs or supports the Work Order Planning Process. Communicates with design engineering to resolve issues. Prepares or directs preparation of field bulk material purchase requisitions, Including estimating the quantities and material takeoffs for field purchases for permanent and temporary materials. Communicates with procurement to prioritize, expedite material deliveries to the site. Executes field take offs from Issued For Construction drawings, provides input to the quantity tracking applications. Verifies materials, equipment, to ensure all installation will meet all contract, design, and code requirements. Assemble and verify Work Order Packages include required records, drawings, data sheets, etc. to fully document installation and pre- testing activities and to maintain systems configuration. Maybe called upon to participate in Constructability walk downs. Assists construction supervision in planning construction methods and procedures. Coordinates engineering or construction problems with superintendents.
Basic Requirements: (Must meet all aspects of Basic Qualifications in order to be considered for this role)
-8+ or more years of Electrical experience
-Previous work as a Field Engineer
-Previous Work Package Planning experience required
-Previous Nuclear experience
-Knowledge of nuclear industry and regulatory standards, and design criteria pertinent field instrumentation and controls systems installations
-Must be computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet database applications and familiar with current industry quality standards.
-Able to work extended work schedules and night shift as required to support the project execution plans and schedules
-Work includes field inspections, climbing ladders, scaffold, work on elevated platforms, permanent ladders, work on uneven surfaces and work in confined spaces
-Must have a valid U.S. driver's license
-Right to work and remain in the United States
