Since 1949, The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) has been dedicated to the mission of curing leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improving the quality of life of patients and their families. LLS is the world's largest voluntary health agency dedicated to blood cancer, funds lifesaving blood cancer research around the world, and provides free information and support services.

The New York City Chapter of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society seeks a highly motivated, energetic, mature, and organized individual to support and manage the daily operations of our Chapter. The Office Manager?s role is pivotal in providing IT/Facilities/HR/Financial support to the 60 individuals at the Chapter and contributing to our continued growth and success.

Position Title : Office Manager

Work Direction : Works under the supervision of the Director of Operations, with one direct report.

Duties and Responsibilities :
Assist the Director of Operations with IT/Facilities/HR/Financial Accounting

Desired applicant can establish a professional and pleasant office environment; resolve problems and provide timely response to staff concerns; and foster a cordial and professional relationship with all constituents.

Liaison to National Office Departments

Manage the Office Assistant

Skilled in managing office and project logistics with multiple constituents

Create, assemble and edit written documents; provide status updates to full staff via written and at times oral presentations.

Skilled in executing required responsibilities with minimal supervision

Desired applicant has the ability to facilitate various aspects of office management; advise staff on operational and procedural matters; and make prudent and sound decisions without direct supervision (if necessary).

Oversee the general and administrative management of office supplies and equipment

Resolve Facilities related issues and requests for Chapter Staff

Take the lead on Building Management issues

Resolve IT issues and provide basic trouble shooting assistance to Chapter Staff

Oversee routine and emergency maintenance of office equipment

Manage workspace preparation for new hires and/or office moves

Assist with new employee orientation

Manage the volunteer program

Assist the Director of Operations and at times the Executive Director in all areas

Building and managing relationships with counterparts at the Chapter-level and National Office

Assist at times after hours during key campaigns

Perform other related duties as assigned

Position Requirements :
Excellent computer skills, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Internet, possesses the capacity to learn new software skills.

Strong business communication skills: utilizes proper spelling, punctuation, and grammar.

Bachelor?s degree preferred ? applicable work experience considered.

Must have Office Management Experience, working in an office of at least 50

Ability to manage multiple deadlines at the same time, and keep them moving forward as new priorities continually enter the mix

Ability to work in a team environment
