As Manager/Supervisor, the primary duty is to manage and supervise direct care staff. Thus, this position is exempt from overtime compensation.
Hiring, firing, and disciplinary recommendations are all part of the job duties.
This position may have to, from time to time, fill in a direct care shift or perform direct care work, but it continues to have management and supervision as its primary duty.
Responsible for the overall operation of assigned service site(s) including: staff, budget, compliance negotiation and communication skills, organizational abilities, advocacy skills, and overall business sense.
BA/BS in Health Care Administration or a Social Science OR High School Diploma/GED and equivalent job experience of 3 years.
Exceptions to the educational requirements must comply with state law.
Exceptions must have written approval of the Regional Vice President. Valid driver’s license required. One year of supervisory experience required.
Previous experience providing services and supports to individuals with developmental disabilities and/or other related disorders or youth preferred.
Ability to communicate (verbal and written) with all levels of personnel internal and external to the company.
Ability to travel, staying overnight as necessary.
Experience in management systems, processes, and people.
Working knowledge of Federal, State, and Local regulations concerning services to individuals with mental retardation and/or developmental disabilities or youth.
Ability to use a calculator and operate general office equipment.
Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proven supervisory skills.
Capable of working responsibly with highly confidential information.
Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team.
Assignments vary and require the interpretation of policy and procedures.
Must have flexibility in days and hours available for scheduled work.
