This position reports to the Distribution Manager, and ensures that inbound material meets all mechanical, electrical and cosmetic specifications as identified in the quality inspection plan using various inspection tools including comparators, calipers, micrometers, height cages, multimeters, etc. Interfaces with engineering, quality and production personnel to resolve quality issues and ensure that the production line is satisfied and we meet or exceed customer expectations.
•Responsible for day-to-day receiving inspection of incoming electronic and mechanical components following quality assurance compliance procedures.
•Data entry into the Datasweep data collection system of all inspection criteria for new parts and as well as changes to inspection requirements.
•Set up test equipment and test product per documented procedures and drawings, isolate and document nonconformance, and communicate nonconformance issues with Supplier Quality Engineering.
•Work closely with the Supplier Quality Engineering to improve the product/test capability and receiving inspection process, while striving to improve quality and reduce cost through communication and problem solving, tracking nonconformance causes and participating in work area meetings.
•Work closely with Materials personnel to ensure that accurate inventory controls are being followed; responsible for completion of cycle counting materials in RI area as well as the accuracy of inventory transactions.
•Responsible and accountable for carrying out the requirements of the company's quality system.
•2-year Mechanical Engineering or equivalent degree/experience.
•ASQ Certified Mechanical Inspector preferred
•Working knowledge of & ability to use precision measurement equipment such as optical comparators, dial indicators, micrometers, calipers, height and thread gages, power supplies, impedance bridges, voltmeters, multimeters, etc.
•Experience reading and interpreting mechanical drawings and specifications, including knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
•Full working knowledge of engineering drawings and ANSI Standards.
•Demonstrated previous experience providing organized, documented information to buyers and ME/DE’s regarding first article and incoming inspection results.
•Strong PC skills including MS-Office, ie: Outlook, Excel, Word, Access.
•Experience in medical electronics industry preferred.
•Experience with Oracle Business System or similar Tier 1 ERP.
•Experience with Data Collection System (Datasweep) and quality system (Agile) or equivalent.
•ISO, FDA training and experience.
•Good oral and written communication skills.
•Self directed, attention to detail, team oriented.
